Exposure Assessment Program
EHSPR will conduct site assessments to evaluate potential exposures to noise (Noise Mapping), chemical, biological, and physical hazards in all types of media. Having a broad experience in the field we are able to evaluate exposures in all types of media—air, water, and environmental surfaces. Our clients request site assessments for regulatory purposes, including compliance with OSHA regulations, chemical spills or emergencies, and for litigation purposes.
We have assessed workplace noise, chemical and dust exposures, warehouse and manufacturing facilities, construction sites, hazardous waste sites, and office buildings. We sample for a wide variety of contaminants, including asbestos, metals, PCBs, dioxins, VOCs, bioaerosols including toxic mold and bacteria, pesticides, welding fumes, solvents, and other pollutants.
Focused IH Field Survey
A detailed exposure assessment is performed in conjunction with your in-house safety and health staff
that focuses on chemical and physical hazards, as well as program evaluation. We conduct full-shift
sampling for chemical and noise hazards. This survey is documented by a report and laboratory analysis.
Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ)
Our IEQ evaluations include an incident response, baseline evaluation and/or program development assistance to resolve and prevent IEQ problems stemming from industrial process and or sick building syndrome ventilation issues.
Your lab analysis is handled by one the top accredited national laboratories in the country. All samples and analytic results are reviewed by Certified Industrial Hygienists with a final review by the Lab Director before release. This assures the client a system of checks and balances with defensible results.
From primers to solvents, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are prevalent in today’s workplaces. Utilizing samples collected on activated charcoal tubes and passive organic vapor monitors, our lab will analyze the samples using Gas Chromatography, which is designed to detect a wide variety of the most commonly used organic solvents.
Every air sample we collect is eligible for our Comprehensive Analytical Scan service. This service will detect the presence of the following: Aluminum, Antimony, Barium, Beryllium, Cadmium, Chromium, Cobalt, Copper, Iron, Lead, Magnesium, Manganese, Molybdenum, Nickel, Silver, Tin, Vanadium and Zinc.
Hexavalent Chromium (CrVI) Analysis
Our Lab is able to offer ICP-MS analysis for your hexavalent chromium samples. ICP-MS can detect CrVI at concentrations far below the new OSHA Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL). Besides its greater sensitivity, ICP-MS permits rapid analysis of multiple elements in a matter of minutes, where previous technology required lengthy, labor-intensive serial analysis.
